NODH strives to push the boundaries of what may seem impossible within jewellery design, to be possible. His fascination with new and exciting industrial technologies with silver gained him a first class honours degree. Nicholas was also awarded the Goldsmiths bursary prize and the William Armstrong Davidson Award. His exciting work grabbed the industries attention at the New Designers Show 2008 (London) where he was selected along with forty-nine other designers to exhibit at the New Designers Selection 2008. His work also appeared at IJL in Earls Court in London by the request of the Goldsmiths’ London Assay Office, Goldsmiths’ hall and several galleries’ within the United Kingdom. Over the past year Nicholas has been working on new collections, private commissions and larger projects for fine and commercial jewellers.
Nicholas now based in London believes within Jewellery design there are no constraints or boundaries to intricate constructed jewellery. Ultimately, he intentionally does not limit himself to the natural ability of his hands. What inspires Nicholas is his own personal experiences and modern iconic shapes, and the reinvention of existing iconic jewellery which he then combines with rapid prototyping, laser cutting, the clinical accuracy of computer aided techniques and repeated three-dimensional designs.
His jewellery is remarkable in itself, however every bespoke piece is complemented with a beautifully custom designed handmade industrial steel box, inlayed with a motif of the jewellery piece laser-cut into foam. Nicholas leaves no stone unturned.
